BYO Deluxe Wine Cellar

It strikes each of us - we get bitten by the wine bug and we want to keep a few extra bottles for another day.
There are many good reasons for wanting to store wine you like. We find a wine we enjoy, and when we go back to buy another bottle we find that the wine is sold out and the winery has no more stock .
Wineries produce a finite supply of good quality wine and even less quantities of great wines. So when you find a wine you enjoy it makes excellent sense to purchase 2-6 extra bottles of the wine and then suitably store them so that they maintain their quality, and can age gracefully while waiting to be tasted.
To be able to keep your wine in the best condition while being stored you need to take into consideration the humidity and temperature in order to ensure the aging process for the wines being cellared is constant and free from significant changes. The best cellar I have found that meets this goal is a BYO (Build your Own) Wine Cellar - either a single cabinet model that can hold 160 bottles, or a dual cabinet model that is designed to hold 320 bottles of wine.
160 bottles? 320 bottles? Is that enough storage capacity for wine? Cellaring capacity for up to 320 bottles is definitely enough storage space, unless you are throwing dinner parties with huge numbers of guests every other weekend.
I made the mistake a few years back of building a massive wine cellar in my house that could hold more than of 2500 bottles of wine. As my wine knowledge increased I started purchasing more and more wine in order to stock my enormous cellar until it reached the stage that I could not consume the wine fast enough before some wines would decrease in quality through over aging. After selling my house a new owner proceeded to do the exact same thing! You don’t need wine storage capacity for 3000 bottles of wine is the point that I am making! A BYO deluxe wine cellar can be purchased inexpensively and assembled within your current living space with little or no hassle.
My recommendation for wine storage is first to consider your living environment, ensuring that a wine cellar can be accommodated within your home without doing any renovations, and secondly, that you consider realistically the amount of wine you are going to want to store.
